Grand Opening Held for Badger Tag & Label New Facility

Random Lake, WI -- On Saturday, May 12, Badger Tag & Label held a grand opening for their new facility at N507 Badger Way in Random Lake, Wisconsin. The official ribbon cutting was at 10 a.m.; the event ran from 10:00 a.m. through 2:00 p.m.  Following the ribbon cutting, members of Badger’s management team gave guided tours, explained highlights of the new facility, and detailed Badger’s capabilities.  The new facility serves as Badger’s main office, as well as the production areas for digital and flexographic printing, and the rewind operations.

Representatives from Keller Inc., the design-build general contractor of the construction project, Badger’s customers, Random Lake Chamber of Commerce, Town of Sherman Board and Village of Random Lake Board members, as well as the general public were part of the grand opening celebration. The new 22,000 square foot building is located just east of Highway 57, off of County Road RR, east of Random Lake.  The building is set on twelve acres on Badger Way, the new driveway custom named after the company.  This is Badger’s second facility in the Random Lake area; they continue to utilize their original 30,000 square foot building at 83 Bentert Street for their prepress department, letterpress printing and finishing operations.

The 10 a.m. ribbon cutting included (left to right): Dale "DJ" Jacoby, Vice President and board member; Paul Schroeder, board member and shareholder; Bob Thiel, President, board member and shareholder; Joel Entringer, board member; Jim Thiel, board member; Dick Thiel, board member and shareholder; and Kevin Kalkofen, Vice President and board member.

In addition to the main/corporate offices and production areas, the new building also has warehouse/storage and receiving areas.  The production area houses four flexographic presses for printing custom tags and labels, digital equipment and plotter cutter utilized for specialty projects, and the rewind machines.

The new building was constructed with potential future expansion in mind.  Also with insight for future growth, the land it sits on allows for sale of select portions for construction by other businesses.  A retention pond was also part of the current project.

“We’re already utilizing the new facility,” said Kevin Kalkofen, Vice President at Badger, “and the expanded space has been instrumental in our continued growth.  The grand opening introduced this state-of-the art building to our local community.  Over the next few months, we’ll also be extending private tour invitations to our customers throughout the nation.”
