| Random Lake, WI -- Badger Tag & Label, a printer of custom tags and labels, is celebrating their 70th year in business. To commemorate this milestone the company has introduced new sales support materials and is announcing personnel changes.
On September 14, 1935 Badger Tag Company was incorporated by Emil Thiel. Since then and continuing today with the third generation, the company has been owned and operated by descendants of the Thiel family.
In support of their overall business, Badger developed a folder and tri-fold insert that assists clients through the decisions necessary when specifying tags and labels. These new collateral pieces reinforce the web site (www.badgertag.com) which has quickly become a benchmark for the industry. Also in honor of the anniversary celebration, the web site features an introductory flash animation recapping historical highlights.
In personnel news, Dale (DJ) Jacoby, was promoted to vice president/general manager. In his new role, he will have greater management responsibilities including overseeing daily operations, printing, and materials procurement. Jacoby has been with Badger since 1976 and has served the company in a variety of positions. Most recently he was the sales and marketing manager.
Kathleen Rassel was hired in mid July as the new sales and marketing manager. In this position, she travels with the Wisconsin and Illinois sales reps and meets personally with independent dealers throughout the country to grow their business while enhancing their sales skills. She will also be charged with overseeing house accounts. Badger has always protected their house, dealer, and direct sales accounts to assure no overlap occurs. Rassel comes to Badger with a diverse sales background including work with Granite Transformations, TayBek International, and Universal Ventures Corp./Fireworks Popcorn Company.
Employees are an important part of Badger's business. Average length of employment at Badger is 19.6 years. And, almost half of the 31 total employees have been with Badger for over 25 years. In celebration of their dedication to excellence, the company is hosting a dinner event for employees, both retired and current, and the spouse/guest of each employee.
