Formats:

• single - tag or label
• fanfolded - tag or label
• sheet - tag or label
• roll - tag or label
• single, with pull tab - label
• ganged - tag

Single format is how tags are usually provided.

Fanfolded format is for both tags and labels and is best used with common dot matrix printers and most recently thermal transfer.

Sheet format is typically used for labels.

Roll format is generally done for labels since they are applied by machine.

Single with pull tab format is only available for labels since the adhesive stops short to allow for quick release.

Tags that are ganged are held together with slits making them easier to tear apart.

Die cut labels are easy to peel from the backing in that they have the "waste" removed and all that remains is the label itself. They can be provided on rolls or sheets.

Butt cut labels are flush with the edge of the sheet or roll they are carried on. They can be provided on rolls or sheets.
